Knafeh is one of the most popular traditional Arabian desserts. This amazing dessert is filled with a mixture of walnuts, cinnamon, and rose water. After baking, it's garnished with cream and chopped walnut.
If using frozen kunafa pastry, take it out of the fridge and leave it on the kitchen table until it gets rid of ice and becomes soft.
Filling: In a deep dish, add nuts, rose water and cinnamon. Mix ingredients together.
Bring a short edge oven tray and line it with parchment paper.
In a deep dish, place the kunafa, sugar and melted ghee. Use your fingers to rub the pastry well with butter till it’s all soaked up.
Bring a medium cup and add a base layer of kunafa pastry inside while bringing the pastry up to the sides in order to make a hole.
Set nuts mixture inside this hole then add another layer of Kunafa on the top.
Take the kunafa ball out of the cup and put it in the tray. Repeat with the rest of the konafa and filling.
Bake the kunafa in preheated oven at 355 F (180°C) for about 20 minutes (on the middle rack), until nicely colored and crispy.
As soon as you turn the kunafa out of the oven, distribute the cold syrup over the hot kunafa.
Transfer the kunafa balls on a serving plate and garnish with cream and nuts. Serve the kunafa warm or cold.
