Freekeh soup with chicken is one of the most delicious recipes in winter. It gives us warmth when it is taken hot. It is nutritious, flavorful and incredibly easy to make and eat.
In a sauce pan add chicken cubes, water a pinch of salt and cardamom. After boiling the chicken, strain and put a side. Keep the chicken broth.
Wash the freekeh until completely clean then soak it in water for 3 hours.
Heat the oil in a deep saucepan, then add the onions and stir until tender.
Strain the freekeh, add it to the saucepan and stir for five minutes. Add the broth, cardamom, salt and black pepper. Stir and leave the broth over high heat until it boils.
After boiling, cover the saucepan and leave the freekeh on low heat until cooked.
Add the boiled chicken pieces and stir, then let the ingredients boil for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
