Today’s dish is one of Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s most famous street food known as mutabbaq. It can be stuffed with meat, vegetables or chicken as of this recipe.
Mix the flour with a tablespoon of butter in a large bowl.
Dissolve the salt in the water in a small bowl, then add the salted water gradually over the flour.
Knead the ingredients well with your hands until obtaining a soft dough.
Divide the dough into 4 balls, then put it in a bowl, cover and set aside for 2 hours.
In the meantime, to prepare the filling, heat the oil in a saucepan over the heat, then add the onions, garlic and ginger.
Stir the ingredients well, then add chicken, pepper, salt and sugar.
Stir the ingredients and let the chicken simmer.
Remove the pan from the heat and put the filling in a large bowl, put it aside for a while until it cools a little and then add the scrambled eggs and mix well.
To prepare the dish, roll out the dough balls and divide them into squares, then place a tablespoon of filling in the center of the dough squares.
Fold each dough on itself to shape an envelope.
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan, then fry the mutabbaq on both sides at medium-low heat and serve!
