Cheese Manakish is made of tasty Arabic flat bread topped with delicious cheese and baked to perfection. They are best eaten freshly baked.
In a deep bowl, put the flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Mix the ingredients well.
Add oil and water. Knead until you get a firm and soft dough.
Cover with a plastic wrap or towel and set aside at room temperature to rise for one hour.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a baking tray with a little olive oil.
Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface. Divide into equal portions. Dust with flour and roll a circle approximately 6 inches in diameter.
Spread the grated akkawi cheese on top of each dough circle. Place on the prepared baking tray.
Bake for 10 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
