Ballouria with pistachios is one of the most famous Arabic sweets. It is made with konafa dough and stuffed with pistachios, it has a distinctive taste.
Chop the kunafa dough, then pour on it melted ghee.
Separate the kunafa dough from each other with your hands
Divide the dough into two parts, and spread the first part at the bottom of a tray.
Mix pistachios with syrup.
Spread pistachios over the whole dough.
Place the second layer of dough on top of the pistachio layer, cover the tray with aluminum foil, put over it a weight until it sticks well, and leave it for 8 hours before serving.
Pour some cooled sugar syrup all over the Ballouria. Cut it into squares and serve.
