Warbat is an Arabic sweet pastry (originally from Jordan) similar to baklava, consisting of layers thin phyllo dough filled with milk pudding, though it is sometimes also filled with pistachios, walnuts, almonds, or sweet cheese.The dessert is topped with a sweet syrup made from sugar, water, and a hint of lemon brought to a boil and then left to cool and thicken.

For Syrup
 2 cups sugar
 1 cup water
 1 tbsp lemon juice
For Warbat
 1 package fillo dough
 0.660 lbs cream (milk pudding)
 3/4 cup melted ghee
 ground pistachio for decoration
For the Syrup

Boil sugar and water and stir until the sugar dissolves, add lemon juice and stir and then continue boiling for 2 minutes.

For the Warbat

Preheat the oven to 160 ° C.

Cut the dough with the help of a ruler into squares of 5 cm wide. Fold over into triangles.

Brush a baking sheet with melted ghee and place triangles. Brush top of the triangles with ghee.

Finish up all the fillo dough the same way.

Bake in the middle rack of the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and while hot drizzle warm syrup. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Open each triangle from the middle and stuff with a teaspoon of cream and decorate with crushed pistachios and serve.
