Royal Konafa with Fruits

Learn how to make Middle Eastern royal konafa with fruits, cream and garnished with pistachio. It's easy and delicious.

 1 lbs (500 g) Konafa pastry
 1 cup powdered sugar
 1 cup melted butter
Nuts and Fruits Mixture
 1/2 cup walnuts
 1/2 cup pistachios
 1/2 cup hazelnuts
 1/2 cup raisins
 1/2 cup chopped apricots
 1/2 cup chopped dates
 1/2 cup cherry
 4 minced strawberries
 2 minced kiwis
 2 cups cream

If using frozen kunafa pastry, take it out of the fridge and leave it on the kitchen table until it gets rid of ice and becomes soft.

Bring a short edge oven tray.

In a deep dish, place the kunafa pastry, sugar and melted ghee. Use your fingers to rub the pastry well with butter till it’s all soaked up.

Put the kunafa in the oven for 15-20 minutes until browned. Using a wooden spoon, stir the Konafa several times during the browning period. Take the konafa out of the oven and allow it to cool completely.

Bring a 9-inch or 10-inch mold and line it with a piece of nylon.

At the bottom of the pan, distribute half the amount of walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, raisins, apricots, dates, cherries, strawberries and kiwi. Spread half the amount of kunafa. Press firmly on the kunafa to stick to the fruits. Spread the cream over the kunafa layer to cover it completely. Spread the rest of the fruit mixture. Distribute the rest of the konafa. Press lightly to hold the layers of Konafa and fruits.

Put the mold in the fridge for several hours.

Turn the royal kunafa with fruits on a serving platter. Garnish with pistachios and serve directly.
