Middle Eastern Lentil Soup with Meatballs

Middle Eastern lentil soup with meatballs is hearty, comforting and full of flavor and textures. It is made from lentils rice and meatballs along with onions, parsley, cumin and salt, and does not require much effort to prepare.

 0.550 lbs (250 grams) minced meat
 2 cups lentils
 1 cup rice
 1 onion
 1 bunch parsley
 2 tablespoons cumin
 1 teaspoon salt
 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Roll the meat into balls.

In a frying pan over medium slightly fry the meatballs without oil.

Rinse lentils and rice. Bring a cooking pot. Add lentil and rice. Cover with water and cook until done.

Cut onion into small cubes and fry with oil until translucent, then stir with chopped parsley. Using the electric hand blender, blend the lentils and rice in the pot then add the fried onion and parsley.

Add meatballs and season with salt and cumin. Serve.
