Lebanese White Bean Stew with Chicken

Beans stew is a popular dish in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Jordan. It is prepared from beans, onions, chicken or beef, cinnamon, spices and salt and it is easy to prepare.

  1 whole chicken cut into 4 pieces
  2 cups beans
  1 onion, chopped
  1 bunch of coriander
  2 heads garlic
  2 tablespoons lemon juice
  2 tablespoons tomato paste
  1 teaspoon salt
 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
 1/2 teaspoon Arabic seven spice mix (click to see recipe)

Soak beans in water overnight.

In a cooking pot, add oil, chicken, spices, salt and onion, then add water and simmer for 10 minutes.

Boil the beans until tender.

Add the beans to the chicken with tomato paste and simmer on low heat until tender.

Meanwhile, chop the coriander and crush the garlic, fry the ingredients in the oil and add to the beans.

Before finishing pour lemon juice.

Serve with rice.
