Lebanese Beef and Green Beans is a very simple and delicious Middle Eastern dish served traditionally over rice pilaf.

 2 lbs green beans (cleaned and washed)
 1 onion, chopped
 1 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
 2 garlic cloves, minced
 2 tomatoes (peeled and chopped fine)
 1 tbsp tomato paste
 1 tsp salt
 1/2 tsp black pepper
 2 cups water
 2 tbsp olive oil

Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add onions and garlic and stir for 3 minutes.

Add the meat and stir for 10 minutes until it becomes golden brown.

Add green beans and stir for 5 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper, then add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, and stir for 3 minutes, then add water.

Cover and simmer stirring occasionally for 90 minutes or until the beef is tender and the green beans are cooked through. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.

Serve the Lebanese Beef and Green Beans over rice and with pita bread.
