Jareesh with Oats

Great recipe for Jareesh. A simple, traditional Saudi dish using oats.

 Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
 Chopped onion: 2
 Chopped tomato: 2
 Oats: 2 cups
 Water: 2 cups
 Milk: two cups
 Salt: to taste
 Black pepper: a pinch
 Chicken broth: 2 cubes
 Melted ghee: 3 tablespoons

In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onions and tomatoes until the ingredients wilt.

Add the water, milk, oats, chicken cubes and season with salt and black pepper, then stir.

When the mixture boils, reduce the heat and leave it until it is cooked, stirring occasionally.

Pour Jareesh into a serving dish and spread the melted ghee over it.
