How to Make Homemade Tahini Paste

Yields2.5 ServingsPrep Time3 minsCook Time5 minsTotal Time8 mins

Tahini is a condiment made from toasted ground hulled sesame. It is served as a major ingredient in hummus, baba ghanoush, and halva. It is quick and easy to make and less expensive than store-bought, and tastes better.

 1 cup hulled sesame seeds
 1 cup white flour
 ½ cup vegetable oil
1

Put the sesame seeds in a cast iron skillet , then put the skillet over low heat. Stir the sesame until it is roasted and take a very light color so that the tahini color is not dark.

2

Remove the pan from the heat, place the sesame seeds in a dish and allow it to cool completely.

3

Put the roasted sesame after it has cooled in the spice mill, then grind it well until it is smooth, and continue to grind until it becomes such as: the dough because its oil goes out during the grinding so it becomes dough.

4

Put the grounded sesame in the mixer bowl and add the flour, vegetable oil, and then mix well until the mixture is thicker like the ready-made tahini.

5

Pour the tahini in a glass jar and close it tightly. Use the tahini as needed and store it in the refrigerator.
