Bird’s Nest Kunafa

Bird's Nest Kunafa is crunchy and just the right dessert during Ramadan and Eid. They are baked instead of fried and they are easy to make.

 1 lbs (500 grams) konafa dough
 2 cups Pistachio
 1 cup ghee (melted)
 2 cups sugar syrup

Boil pistachios with water for two minutes, then soak them in cold water and leave for 5 minutes then drain.

Bring a baking tray and brush it with ghee. Roll the threads of the kunafa in a circle so that it looks like small nests and put them in the baking tray.

Fill each nest with pistachio and press it until all are done.

Cover the tray and leave at room temperature one to one hour and half.

Preheat oven to 355 F.

Pour melted ghee to cover the nests, and put the tray directly in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes until the nests golden brown.

Transfer the nests to another tray. Let it cool. Pour the sugar syrup over the nests.

Transfer kunafa nests to a serving dish. Serve cold.
